The animals and birds are not to be disturbed. Dogs must be kept on leads.
We found the best starting point to be the Pont St Maurice, which spans the river on the road from Guidel to Clohars Carnoet.
From there you can walk up or down river on either side.
On the Morbihan side you can walk down river to Guidel Plage (3400m -
On the Finistere side you can walk down to Posmoric Port and Pouldu Harbour (That seemed much more than 3400m!), or upriver to Saint Maurice and on through the forest to Quimperle.
The path is generally easy walking, with some short stretches that are steep and rocky. There is a steep stairway down the high bank at St Maurice Creperie.
It is not a wheelchair friendly path, and you need reasonable shoes or trainers.
You may occasionally see a small lizard, or slow worm but mostly they hear you coming and hide.
It is a very beautiful area, and can be a welcome semi shaded refuge on a hot day.
It is worth mentioning that all these photos were taken in April, May or September.
Whilst the weather can be unpredictable, it can be very good.
It’s an ideal time for those who do not have children in school to enjoy this area of Southern Brittany.
Also the caravan and ferry charges are much lower than in summer. It would be be very difficult to holiday in the UK for the same money, and you’ll probably have better weather.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do make sure you take bottles of water with you. There are no refreshments Between the creperie at St. Maurice and Pouldu Harbour , and nothing at all on the Morbihan side once you leave Guidel Plage.

The photos above are from the Pouldu side of La Laita (See also Port Posmoric and Pouldu Harbour)
The one below was taken almost immediately under the Pont St. Maurice, and the rest are from the upriver walk on the Guidel side of La Laita.

No! It’s a memorial chapel!
There are no loos on the walk either
The picture above was taken from here

It’s a slow worm
We did not see any snakes on any of the walks

Chlorella and Spirulina are the most researched algae in the world – by scientists
at the Rockefeller Foundation, the Carnegie Institute, NASA, as well as in Japan,
Germany, England, Russia, and Israel. This has led to Chlorella & Spirulina
being
accepted as valuable health giving foods.
Did you know?
“Drinks? Of course I packed some drinks! They’re in the cold box.” (In the car!)
